Auto Import Setup dialog box
This dialog box allows you to set up watch folders for auto import.
Start Auto Import when application is launched - check this box to automatically being watching your auto image "watch folders" when the software is launched.
Auto Import name - enter the name that you want to use for this watch folder setup. This name is just a user-friendly reference and does not refer to a folder name or any other specific reference.
Add icon - displays the Save as (auto import name setup) dialog box, which allows you to add a Import name setup under a different name.
Rename icon - displays the Rename (auto import name setup) dialog box, which allows you to change the Import setup name.
Delete icon - displays a confirmation box, which allows you to delete the selected auto import setup.
Auto Import location – enter the path to the "watch folder” that you want to auto import from. All of the other settings specified in this dialog box will apply to this “watch folder”. Whenever a new folder appears in the specified location (a subfolder within the watch folder) a timer is assigned specifically to this new subfolder and will be started. Whenever any content is added to the subfolder (or any folder below the subfolder, within it at any level) the timer on the subfolder will be reset. If the contents of the subfolder and its underlying directory structure remain unchanged for the specified time interval, the timer will expire. When the timer expires, indicating no change to the subfolder contents during the interval, the subfolder will “time out”. The subfolder will be locked (moved into the processing queue) and the subfolder contents will be processed according to the auto import setup specifications.
Auto Import timeout – enter a timeout value in seconds. If no files are added to the subfolder of the watch folder within the timeout interval, the subfolder will be processed. This activity includes additions to any folder within the subfolder’s hierarchy no matter how deeply nested.
Job setup for auto import – select the Job Setup that is to be used to process the images as they are imported.
Page setup for auto import – a specific page setup dialog box has been created for auto import which restricts page setup options to those compatible with auto import constraints. These only include auto delete, and split image options.
Archive
Backup the files to – select this check box if you want the entire contents of the watch folder, in their original unprocessed form, copied to a specified archive location following auto import processing.
Enter the desired location by either entering the location or using the Browse button. The archive location should be on the same drive as the watch folder, but should never be within the watch folder itself.
Error Handling
Maximum retries on import error - after the specified number of errors have occurred, the user will be prompted regarding further action.
Cache the error files and data to – specifies a directory where any corrupted image files will be copied. Auto import will only copy those files into the error cache which are of a supported file type or failed to open.
These images are somehow corrupted. Images of unsupported file types (for example .doc files) will be skipped, noted in the log, but will not count as errors.
