Starting the scanner within the software
You can start the scanner using a software command.
To start the scanner within the software:

Select Capture>Start.
The scanner will scan your first image. For more information, click here
It may take a few seconds
to start the scanner the first time because the software is downloading
parameters. Successive starts should be faster.
Refer to your scanner User Guide for procedures on feeding documents.
Most scanners detect the presence of documents in the feeder and the
transport/feeder starts to run when the Start
icon is selected..

Scanners with flatbeds
If flatbed
scanning is enabled, click the green Start
icon to scan the flatbed.
Kodak i600 and i800 Series
Scanners
The
Auto-Start transport option in the Scanner Setup dialog box for your scanner
determines what the software
Start button controls. When
Auto-Start transport is enabled, the scanner transport and feeder will
automatically run and start scanning.
When Auto-Start transport is disabled, the Start
button within the software enables only the scanner. Press the green button
on the scanner control panel to start the scanner transport/feeder.
Kodak i1200 and i1300 Series
Scanners
If
the paper feeder is empty when the green Start
button is pressed, the scanner waits up to 10 seconds to accept documents.
When documents are detected, the transport/feeder runs.
Kodak i1800
Series Scanners
The
option to automatically start the scanner is accessible through the scanner
settings for each page setup. For more information, refer to the scanner
User Guide. When Auto-Start transport is enabled, the scanner transport
and feeder will automatically run and start scanning when the Start
button is pressed.
When Auto-Start transport is disabled, the Start
button enables only the scanner. Touch the Scan button on the scanner
touch screen to start the scanner transport/feeder.
