Bar Code, OCR and Mark Detection settings

The Bar Code, OCR & Mark Detection window of the Capture tab on the Job Setup dialog box allows you to scan and manipulate an image and create a bar code zoneA bar code image that the software recognizes as a separator between batches or documents in images being scanned. Before a bar code image can be used as a separator, the user must define it as a bar code zone in the Capture tab of the Job Setup dialog box. or OCR zone in the Bar Code, OCR & Mark Detection window.

Setting eight or more bar code zones for a job may adversely affect your scanning speed.

Image name - if desired, selected a pre-existing image from the drop-down list. For more information,click hereThe Image name drop-down list contains all the images that have been scanned for bar code setup. You must have at least one image in this list before you can define a bar code or OCR zone.

For typical job setups using bar code zones or OCR zones, a single image is all that is required. Multiple images are needed for job setups that have batch and document header sheets, each containing bar code or OCR information.

Any bar code zones or OCR zones that you define will be displayed on the current image, even if you defined those zones using a different image..

	Start/Scan - opens the Scan Image dialog box , which allows you to scan an image containing bar codes, OCR text segments or mark areas into the Bar Code & OCR window. Capture Pro Limited Edition will use whatever Page Setup is currently selected when Start/Scan is selected.
	Draw Region - allows you to draw a rectangle around a bar code or OCR text segment on the scanned image and then displays the Bar Code Zone Setup dialog box or the OCR Zone Setup dialog box.
	Magnify - enlarges a portion of the image. When you select Magnify, the Magnify tool will appear. You can enlarge any area on the image where you place Magnify tool and click and hold.
	Pan - allows you to move the image around the viewer when the image is larger than the Bar Code, OCR & Mark Detection window.
	Zoom In - zooms in on the image.
	Zoom Out - zooms out on the image.
	Fit window - changes the image display so the image fits the Bar Code, OCR& Mark Detectionwindow.
	Actual size - displays image at the actual size. One scanned pixel equals one pixel on the Bar Code, OCR& Mark Detectionwindow.
	Test selected bar code or OCR zone - opens theBar Code and OCR Valuesdialog box, which allows you to view test results on one selected bar code zone or OCR zone. Test scan does not use the currently define page setup. The Merge and Split options do not work.
	Test all selected bar codes, OCR and Mark Detection zones -opens theBar Code, OCR and Mark Detection Valuesdialog box, which allows you to view test results on all selected bar code, OCR and Mark Detection zones.
	Create barcode- enables you to create a bar code zone from the image in the Bar Code, OCR Mark Detectionwindow.
	Create OCR zone - enables you to create an OCR zone from the image in the Bar Code, OCR& Mark Detectionwindow. For more information on creating OCR zones, click here.
	Create Mark Detection zone - enables you to create a Mark Detection zone from the image in the Bar Code, OCR& Mark Detectionwindow.
	Zone properties - opens the Bar Code Zone Setup dialog box, OCR Zone Setup dialog box, or Mark Detection Zone Setup dialog box which allows you to view the properties of the selected bar code, OCR or mark detection zone.
	Delete selected zone - allows you to delete a bar code zone or OCR zone. A confirmation box will be displayed to verify your choice.

OK - closes the dialog box. All your settings are saved.
