OCR zone separation

This option is not available with Capture Pro Limited Edition.

The OCR zone separation setting under the Capture tab on the Job Setup dialog box allows you to scan an image into the OCR window and define zones and OCR zone-specific properties. The commands within the OCR window are listed below:

Image name - if desired, select a pre-existing image name from the drop-down list. For more information, click hereYou must have at least one image saved in theImage namedrop-down list before you can define any OCR zones.

For typical job setups using OCR zones, a single image is all you need. Multiple images are needed for job setups that have Batch and Document header sheets, each containing OCR information.

Any OCR zones that you define will be displayed on the current image, even if those zones were defined using a different image..

	Start scan - displays the Scan Image dialog box, which allows you to scan a new image containing text into the OCR window.
	Draw Region - allows you to click and hold to draw a rectangle around words or letters on the scanned image that you want used as an OCR zone. When you stop holding, it opens the OCR Zone Setup dialog box.
	Magnify - enlarges a portion of the image. When you select Magnify, the Magnify tool will appear. You can enlarge any area on the image where you place Magnify tool and click and hold.
	Pan - allows you to move the image around the viewer when the image is larger than the OCR window.
	Zoom In - zooms in on the image.
	Zoom Out - zooms out on the image.
	Fit window - changes the image display so the image fits in the OCR window.
	Actual size - displays image at actual size. One scanned pixel equals one pixel on the OCR window.
	Test selected bar code or OCR zone - displays theBar Code, OCR and Mark Detection Valuesdialog box, which allows you to view test results on one selected OCR zone.
	Test all selected bar codes or OCR zones - displays the Bar Code and OCR Valuesdialog box, which allows you to view test results on all selected OCR zones.
	Create barcode- enables you to create a bar code zone from the image in the Bar Code window. For more information on creating bar code zones,click here.
	Create OCR zone - allows you to create an OCR zone from the image in the OCR window.
	Zone properties - displays the OCR Zone Setup dialog box, which allows you to view the properties of the selected OCR zone.
	Delete selected zone - allows you to delete an OCR zone. A confirmation box will be displayed to verify your choice.

OK - closes the dialog box. All your settings are saved.
